How might I move forward with this work so more students can experience this type of learning success?
This summer I plan to refresh my library curriculum, so it will include a Genius Bar presentation for each student from grades K-3. The biggest problem is time. I have 12 lessons per semester with students. I will somehow work it so there is one "exhibition" or "presentation" per semester, and a total of two per year. The curriculum will be modeled after the things I've seen at the R&D trip at Brightworks and Nueva.
I also would like to thank Julie George, a third grade teacher, for partnering with me throughout the year. She dedicated one day per cycle for her students to work on Genius Bar projects. Again, it was a hit! Students enjoyed working in teams or individually. It was a time for students to think creatively and enjoy something they want to learn more about. Some topics included coding, mele and chants, teaching their friends to draw a tuxedo man, and more. It allowed students get excited about presenting and learning.
